Praise the Lord! Asia Bibi has arrived in Canada safely, Christians are rejoicing for justice being done
Dear intercessor,
We would like to share a wonderful news with you: sister Asia Bibi from Pakistan, whom we had prayed for has arrived in Canada safely to reunite with her family.
Bibi was convicted in 2010 and sentenced to hang after she was accused of defiling the name of the Prophet Mohammed during an argument a year earlier with Muslim colleagues. After years of global mobilization of prayer and appeals, finally last year, she won her appeal, but her release sparked widespread protests throughout Pakistan.
Before her conviction was overturned, the Islamist movement Tehreek-e-Labbaik (TLP) had previously vowed to take to the streets if Bibi were released, and large protests broke out in Islamabad and Lahore soon after the ruling was announced.
The group went on the rampage when Bibi was acquitted in 2018, with protesters jamming into cities, attacking public property and burning cars.
Thank God for the Pakistani government to finally agree for her to leave. This is a just move, to restore justice to this woman who has suffered countless injustices and tribulations.
May God by His, faithfulness continue to bless and lead their families to walk in God’s plan for them!

Dear Heavenly Father, I ________ (put your name in it) come to the throne of grace, through the blood of Jesus Christ, the power of the Holy Spirit, to receive Your abundant grace and mercy. Lord Jesus, ________ confess You are the Lord of my life. I ask the resurrected power of the Holy Spirit to fill and saturate every part of my being. I surrender all my spirit, soul and body completely to You. Now I ask You to reveal to me, remind me of any sin that I have committed known or unknown, so that I can confess and repent of them accordingly. Cleanse me from all the defilement of the world, sanctify me and my family line of any unrighteousness with the blood of Jesus. I now cast all my burden to You . Your yoke is easy, Your burden is light. I now put on the armor of God that You have given me, gird myself with the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, the helmet of salvation, the shield of faith, the sword of the Spirit, my feet fitted with the gospel of peace, so that I can pray and intercede in the Holy Spirit by Your mighty power, and after done all to stand firm.

- God, protects children, adolescents, and young people around the world from the danger of school bullying or sexual assault and harassment, not to fall into the trap of abduction and human trafficking, and displacement from wars.

Save the Souls of Islamic Extremists
We know the danger that Islamic extremists bring to the world with their terror attacks and their prayers that often become the curses toward Israel and the rest of the world. Especially during Ramadan, the destructive power of Islamic extremists can increase enormously (for example, the deadly suicide bomb attacks in the Indonesian city of Surabaya this year and the Philippine City that was besieged by Islamic State-linked militants). Let us declare the following:
- In the name of Jesus, the blessings and the peace of God will replace all the curses from Islamic extremists.
- In the name of Jesus, all the terror attacks that Islamic extremists plan will fail and be interrupted before they can even start.
- In the name of Jesus, the salvation and grace of God will come into the lives of these Islamic extremists.
Save the souls of the LGBT group
In addition, the trend of LGBT is actively searching its way into the schools of every nation, pushing the legalization of homosexual education and same-sex marriage. Therefore, we need to pray and declare the following every day:
- In the name of Jesus, the promotion of LGBT ideology all over the world will fail, including the legalization of same-sex marriage and homosexual education.
- In the name of Jesus, the grace of God and salvation will come to the LGBT group.
- In the name of Jesus, one husband and one wife system will be restored all over the world.

- God reign in President Putin’s heart and minds that he will surrender to the Almost High God and following His will. God will keep him from the manipulation of the evil power.

- Father, we submit America, President Trump, Mike Pompeo and John Bolton as light and salt, anointed to take charge of Iran and the Middle-East, full of wisdom and fear of the Lord, to build each other up in love as Lord Jesus commanded. Let all the earth bow down to You; let them sing praise to You and sing the praises of Your name! We ask You to comfort the afflicted and heal the wounded from the conflict last weekend. May You bless the Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu and the General Staff of the Israeli Defense Forces; let them rely on You in the spirt of the fear of the Lord. Grant them strategies and technology to thaw enemy’s schemes and attacks in order to protect Israel. Also when Israeli people hear of wars and rumors of wars, help them remember that You are the God Almighty who watches over Israel and that You neither slumber nor sleep.
- Pray for the People of Gaza: Abba Father, because of Your tender mercy, You cherish the people of Gaza, many of whom cannot tell their right hand from their left. Oh Father, You will surely deliver them from the evil Hamas regime and give them leadership that cares about the people and would guide their feet into the path of peace. Let the light from on high shine on the people of Gaza sitting in darkness and in the shadow of death. May Your will be done in Gaza and the name of the Lord Jesus be lifted up high in Gaza!

- Peace for Our Jewish Elder Brother: Dear Abba Father, as anti-Semitic incidents proliferate and escalate globally, they are as the cords of death that entangle our Jewish elder brother and as the torrents of destruction that overwhelm them. Oh Father, Israel is the apple of Your eye and You will surely keep them, comfort them and protect them, because You are the God who saves! We declare that You will rule the peoples with equity and guide the nations of the earth in righteousness. Help Christians around the world rise up to defend and protect their Jewish friends, neighbors and colleagues. We stand with our Jewish elder brother and lift up our hands and cry out to You, “The Lord is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold. I called to the Lord, who is worthy of praise, and I have been saved from my enemies.” (Psalm 18:2-3)
- Pray for Aliyah: Oh Father, You are shaking the nations and bringing Your drifting children home. We ask You to grant them divine encounters with Jesus, just as He appeared to the disciples on the road to Emmaus. Open their hearts that they may recognize Jesus as their Messiah and know that only Israel is truly the land of promise, and only Jerusalem is their dwelling place of Shalom.

- Pray for Sotoudeh’s salvation: Father God, thank You for giving Sotoudeh a heart of mercy and righteousness, not afraid of high power, use her to defend for the abused and powerless children, women and people from injustice, though she has been in jail several times, she never gave in. And now she is facing cruel and unfair treatment, but the Lord works righteousness and justice for all the oppressed. (Psalm 103:6) God, rise up justice for her wrongful treatment. May Your righteousness, mercy and love fall upon her, and You personally overturn this unfair judgment, to not only save her from the brutal punishment but also save her soul. Let Your grace of redemption come to her, and draw her to seek and know the Lord as gracious and righteous; our God is full of compassion. (Psalm 116:5) So she can lean on You to live out her destiny and manifest Your glory!
- Rise up honest and righteous Iranian government: Father God, thank You for awakening people through this case. Let the voice of righteousness be heard through the whole land of Iran. “I will set My throne in Elam and destroy her king and officials,” declares the Lord. “Yet I will restore the fortunes of Elam in days to come,”(Jeremiah 49:38-39)May the nailed hand of Jesus touch every soul of Iran, and His precious blood cleanse and cover the land of Iran, making Iran a good land for the gospel. (Mark 4:8-9) In the name of Jesus Christ, we declare: righteous government who are after God’s own heart shall arise to replace the corruptive, greedy, unjust government. God’s chosen righteous men shall rise up, and the dictatorship government shall completely collapse. Iran enters in the new era, removing all old things that displease God. The national lawmaking and law systems are aligned with the will of God!

- Pray for Christian businessmen to apply the Matthew 10 and Luke 10 pattern for finding persons of peace and blessing whole households among the Arab/Berber peoples.
- There is a long history of many labourers working in Morocco to this day. Pray for unity amongst diverse Moroccan believers, and for believers to be effective in sharing Christ with their households, so that the gospel is seen as a blessing; rather than a curse. Pray for reproducing households of faith.

U.S.-Iran Tensions

Last month, President Trump made clear that short-term exception permitting some Iranian oil trade would be discontinued. Iran strikes back immediately with their perennial threat to close the vital Strait of Hormuz to commercial shipping.
When the new tightening sanction went into effect last week, experts expect will drive Iran’s oil exports down from about 1.1 million barrels a day to perhaps 200,000 to 300,000 barrel a day, severely damaging Iran’s already reeling economy. (Mat. 6:33-34)
Why close down Strait of Hormuz ?
The Strait of Hormuz is one of the most critical chokepoints in the world. Nearly one-third of all seaborne crude oil (more than 18 million barrels a day) passes through the 21-mile-wide opening between Oman and Iran, as well as about 30% of all natural gas shipped on tankers. Iran, with military presence on a number of islands near the strait and along the northern coastline, dominates that critical body of water.
Iranian regular military force and special Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. (IRGC) could force to stop these vital economic arteries, inflicting painful economic losses on regional rivals such as Saudi Arabia, and even the U.S. (Note: IRGC is recognized as a terrorist organization)
Iran also knows aggressive action would surely invite a devastating response from U.S. and allied forces in the region.
U.S. immediate Defense
Secretary of State Mike Pompeo’s sudden visit to Iraq amid U.S.-Iran escalating tensions – because information indicates that Iran is escalating their military activity. Secretary Pompeo will be meeting Baghdad leaders to assure them that U.S. is ready to support Iraq as a sovereign, independent nation. U.S. would continue to help build out partners in the region – i.e. Jordanians, the Saudis, the Emiratis, and all of the Gulf states who want to see a free, independent, sovereign Iraq as his primary mission.
U.S. Deployment clarification
National Security Adviser John Bolton confirmed U.S. will continue to closely monitor the activities of the Iranian regime, military movement, and IRGC movement. ‘U.S. goal is fully prepared to defend U.S. forces and interests, and respond to any attacks’.
Recent deployment of the USS Abraham Lincoln Carrier Strike Group and a Bomber Task Force are considered prudent steps to protect U.S. forces and interests in the region, and to deter any aggression.
It’s viewed the U.S.-Iran tensions threat appears to be directed at U.S. troops and military base in Iraq, as well as in waterways where Iranian maritime forces operate.

Pray for Israel: The Gaza Terrorists Onslaught of Rockets in Israel
【Current Event: Last weekend (5/4-5/5), Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) in Gaza had a bloody conflict with Israel. Different armed groups in Palestine fired more than 600 rockets into Israeli towns. Israel also launched as many as 300 air strikes against Gaza. Both sides have already agreed to a temporary ceasefire. Hamas needed a cease-fire in place before the start of Ramadan, and that was the catalyst for an agreement.
This conflict was the worst it has been since Israel’s war with Gaza in 2014, killing four Israelis and injuring hundreds more. Israel responded to the rocket attacks by conducting air strikes on Hamas targets and assassinating a Hamas leader. The IDF said the Hamas leader was in charge of receiving terror funding from Iran and giving it to terrorists in Gaza.
Gaza health ministry said 29 Palestinians were killed by Israel’s air strikes. At least 11 of those deaths were terrorists. Eight of them were from Islamic Jihad. PIJ Secretary-General Ziad al-Nakhaleh said Tuesday during an interview, “the last escalation was only a live fire drill in preparation for the major campaign that is coming.” The Gaza-based terror group also says the recent onslaught is just the beginning and vows more bloodshed.

Pray For Iran: Female Human Rights Lawyer Nasrin Sotoudeh
【Current event: The Iran’s theocratic government sentenced Sotoudeh to a total of 38 years in prison and 148 lashes for the charge of conspiring to harm state security. Critics from around the world decried the outcome of Sotoudeh’s case and Sotoudeh has completely denied the above allegations.
Observers said that Sotoudeh was ultimately charged with seven crimes and given the maximum sentence for all of them, which may signal a newly hardline approach to political dissent. In a secret trial, details of her ordeal have often come via her husband, Reza Khandan.
Nasrin Sotoudeh
Graduated from Shahid Beheshti University, majored in international law, Sotoudeh obtained a lawyer’s license in 1995, working for abused children and women, and defended for Journalist Isa Saharkhiz, Nobel Peace Prize laureate Shirin Ebadi and the head of the banned opposition group National Democratic Front.
Sotoudeh devoted her life to defend the rights of Muslim women, the abolition of death sentence, and women who were prosecuted because of removing a hijab. In 2010, she was sentenced to 11 years in prison, banned from practicing laws for 20 years, and released in 2013. The following year, her practicing lawyer was reinstated. Sotoudeh’s contribution to human rights also allowed her to receive the Sakharov Prize from the European Parliament in 2012.
Last year, Sotoudeh wrote a letter in prison to her 12-year-old son, explaining why she could not accompany him on the first day of school: “When I saw a young man sentenced to death in Iran, how can I remain silent, sit idly and ignore? How can I close my eyes, without looking at cases of those abused children?… I really can’t, my son.” She said in a letter: “I will not be silenced”
Amnesty International
Amnesty International said it was the harshest sentence documented against a human rights defender in Iran in recent years and sternly criticized the Iran’s theocratic government for punishing her because of Sotoudeh’s contribution to human rights, calling on the Iran’s theocratic government to immediately release Sotoudeh. Her imprisonment was widely condemned in the international community. The UN investigator on human rights in Iran held up her case as a sign of the country’s increasingly brutal opposition of those who defend the rights of women.】

Of all the countries in East Africa, only Somalia has Sharia Law. Although other countries do not practise Sharia Law officially, groups of extreme Islamists have rule in certain places. For instance, in North-Eastern Kenya, the terrorist group, AlShabaab, rules as if they are the elected government. Christians in Somalia and North-eastern Kenya are terrorized by this Islamic group, and many are killed or seriously injured because they are followers of Jesus. Al-Shabaab has been known to divide people into Muslim and Christian groups and execute the Christians. In March 2015, Christian students of the university in Garissa were killed in this way. Similarly, in December 2016, Christian passengers travelling on the Mandera-Nairobi bus were also killed in this fashion 】

Day 11 – The Turks in Turkey 16 May
【Background:The Turks originated in Turan, a region that lies between the Caspian Sea and the Mongolian Desert. They arrived in Anatolia, Turkey in the 11th Century as conquering warriors and ruled much of the world as part of the Ottoman Empire. The Ottoman Empire continued until the nation of Turkey was formed in 1923. Turkey is a secular republic, and it sits symbolically between the ‘Christian’ West and the Muslim world. Growing political unrest and division between Turks and Kurds threatens the peace of this region.
Ministry obstacles
Turks perceive Christianity as a threat to their community and identity, and thus miss the blessing of God’s love expressed in Jesus. Islamic tradition teaches that the Bible has been corrupted, in contradiction to what the Qur’an teaches. 】

Day 12 – Crisis and opportunity 17 May
【Background:The constant stream of refugees to Europe is creating a crisis and resistance is mounting in Europe. Thousands of refugees are still trying to get to Europe, completely unaware of the emotional state of Europeans. It is simply impossible to accommodate so many people in Europe, which has its own challenges in terms of employment and the already great number of asylum seekers and refugees. However, this situation does create an opportunity for the Church to reach out to refugees, whose salvation we have been praying for over decades. Now they are in a place geographically where it is easier to evangelise them, but the problem is the weak Church in Europe. 】

Day 13 – Fulani herdsmen 18 May
【Background:Thousands of Nigerian Christians are killed every year by Fulani herdsmen. The Fulani have a very strong resistance to Christianity, and they believe that their existence is threatened by different social and economic factors. In one incident, Fulani herders attacked Christians in two northern villages, for no apparent reason! While women and children ran for their lives, the men stayed to try and defend their village. An estimated 50 Christians died, and the villagers lost most of their property as the attackers set light to the village. One survivor, 36-year-old Comfort Obida, lost her husband in such an attack. She says,.“I received a call from my in-laws, who told me, ‘Baba is gone. They have killed him’”. Now, Comfort must find a way to provide for her four children. Many Christian women have been widowed and their children left fatherless in the wake of such attacks. CBN Nigeria Director, Felix Oisamoje, explains “I think one of the things we need the most is prayer… whatever is going on right now has some kind of spiritual underpinnings, and I believe if we begin to deal with it from that point, it makes it easier. After all, the Bible tells us that we do not war against flesh and blood, so we know there are spiritual issues, so we need to pray.” 】

Day 14 – The Hui in China 19 May
【Background: The Hui are the largest and most widespread of China’s Muslim minorities and are widely scattered throughout the country. Their ancestors are largely Arabs, Persians, and Mongols. One of the worst genocides in history occurred when one million Hui were massacred between 1855 and 1873. Although there are a few scattered believers, this may be the largest people group in the world without a single known fellowship of believers.
Ministry obstacles
The Hui have a long history of a strong commitment to Islam. In recent years, an increasing number of Hui have travelled to Mecca for the annual Hajj pilgrimage. In contradiction to the Qur’an, Islam teaches that the Bible has been corrupted.
What is Ramadan？
Ramadan is the ninth month in the Islamic calendar during which Muslims fast and pray to get closer to Allah. Muslims believe that the first revelations of the Quran were made to Muhammad during Ramadan. This year, Ramadan is from 5/6 to 6/5.
What does “Islam” mean?
“Islam” means “obedience” and “peace” in Arabic, and followers of Islam are collectively referred to as “Muslim”, meaning “one who surrenders”. The believers must obey the will of Allah and practice the Five Pillars of Islam: trust and understand the Muslim profession of faith, pray five times a day, fast in the month of Ramadan, give money to charity, and pay pilgrimage to Mecca. The Quran is the holy book of Islam which was written by Muhammad, who is regarded as “the perfect person” and the last prophet. The Quran says that there is only one true god, that is, Allah.
What do Muslims believe about Jesus?
While Christians believe that Jesus is the Son of God, Muslims believe Allah has no son. Jesus appears 25 times in the Quran and is given special status, but He is only ever referred to as a prophet. The Quran states that Jesus never died on the cross but agrees that He will return to earth to usher in the end time.
Converted Muslims Face Persecution
When Muslims convert to Christianity, they face intense persecution; however, the number of believers from a Muslim background is growing. Islam has the most severe penalty for apostasy in the world. It is clearly stated in their laws that Muslims must not give up their Islamic beliefs, otherwise they are “apostates”, which is an insult to Islam; as a result, such people must be punished. Muhammad said: “Whoever changes his religion, execute him.“
According to《Open Doors》, the yearly published World Watch List shows that among the top ten countries which are most dangerous for Christians, half of them are Muslim countries. In addition, 40 out of the top 50 most dangerous countries have Muslim majority in their population.
Further, the terrorist attacks launched by Islamic extremist organizations are now the world’s number one killers of Christians. The converted Muslims are turned against by their own people with knives and guns. Local Christians are often enslaved, abused, sold, raped and even killed for refusing to convert to Islam.
Christian Response to Ramadan
Over 1.8 billion people around the world identify themselves as Muslims. During Ramadan, Muslims earnestly seek to get closer to Allah. In Matthew 5:44, Christ commands us to love our enemies and to pray for those who persecute us. Let us pray that the 1.8 billion Muslims will find the one true God. 】 (Source: Open Doors)

Oasis in Europe
The country of Montenegro is located in a small country on the mountainous islands of southern Europe. It has a unique geographical environment, Durmitor National Park, Kotor Old Town and Sopocany Monastery, Tara Valley, St. Triprina Catholic Church, Oster Rogge Cathedral, St. Stefan Island, Budva Old Town, etc., are listed as one of the world’s cultural heritage by the United Nations.
Montenegro National Emblem
The emblem of the Montenegro, symbolizing the resurrection of Jesus Christ, there is a double-headed eagle with a golden crown and wings, holding a scepter. The breastplate symbolizes the lion of Judah. The national emblem represents the unity of politics and religion in Montenegro.
Nation and differences in religion

Pray for Taiwan – the 2020 Presidential Election
【Current event: The Executive branch”s version of the law on marriage, the “Issue of the 12th referendum” proposed by the Happiness League and another compromise version will be discussed on a 5/14 and 5/17 will enter into final decision … detailed reading .
In November last year, the Taiwan government conducted a referendum on the legalization of same-sex marriage. As a result, 7.65 million referendums opposed the legalization of same-sex marriage and agreed to set up a special law to protect the rights of homosexual couples. At present, the draft of the Executive Branch is released. Although the name of same sex marriage is removed from the bill, but the content is subject to civil law marriage provisions, which violates the referendum. After the referendum, the Executive Branch did not propose a draft amendment to the marriage is of one man and one woman. Rather than the next generation of happiness alliance Pastor Shaoen Kuo(Pastor of the House of Christ in Taipei) published the article “ a day of distress, rebuke and disgrace.” on the 21st, calling for the Taiwanese churches, which support the movement of “Love and Protect Family and Children” to pray together and to participate in the convocation of 228 and Forty days of Praying and Fasting that begins on March 1, calling on God to reign and rule the kingdom of men until we see the glory of God .
Approaching May 24, 2 years anniversary of the No. 748 “Sunrise Clause“. due to the referendum on the election in November last year (2018), the 3 referendums proposed by the Coalition of Happiness were passed. A group of citizens who care about the issue of family and children launched a thousand people march around the Executive Yuan prayer vigil at 7:00 pm of February 19, calling on the Executive Director Jenchang Su to honor the referendum results. The original 30-minute prayer vigil drew waves and waves of caring citizen participating. it couldn’t be stopped even after 9:30pm, there were still people swarming in to participate.
However, the Executive Yuan’s version is still not in line with the expectations of the Coalition of Happiness. Pastor Shaoen Kuo believes that the “common marriage law” cannot be contrary to the will of God. Facing such difficulties, the churches in Taiwan should come together and pray until the glory of the Lord is manifested. Pastor Kuo prayed to God and said, “What we can’t do with our hands, we can do with our prayers, nothing is too difficult for God. God, may You call Your churches, to fulfill Your will in 2019, show Your glory in Taiwan, May Your blessing stay in Taiwan”. We declare: “The lot is cast into the lap, but its every decision is from the Lord (Prov . 16:33), ” In the Lord’s hand the king’s heart is a stream of water that he channels toward all who please him. (Prov 21:1)

How should we respond?
The version of the “Special Law” of the Executive Yuan has been released! The definition of marriage and family is ambiguous, and the implementation of regulations is dodging the point! Many brothers and sisters are confused, disappointed, angry, and bewildered… At this moment, how should we respond?
When I got up in the morning, the Father put the experience of Hezekiah in my heart! “ This is a day of distress, and of rebuke, disgrace ……” (I king 19:1-4) , when the country encountered great difficulties, the enemy attacked, humiliated, people fell into deep distress! Isn’t Judah undergoing a spiritual revival? Isn’t God with them, and blessed them? How did it end up this way? (2 Chronicles 29-32 / II King 18-19)
How could this be? What are we to do ?
In King Hezekiah, the Bible reveals a “way out” at this moment! Before people: silent! (2 Kings 18:36); before God: Cry out! (2 Kings 19:1 ) When the Assyrian army coming toward the city with arrogance and fierce, it is easy to imagine that the whole country was in chaos… a lot of hustle and bustle. Hezekiah told everyone: be silent, go to the Lord and tell Him! Let the voice of the people quiet down, so the work of God can be revealed! Although we can do nothing, our Lord is full of power! So, we saw: never in the history of mankind, God personally intervened and took over – overnight, the angesl of the Lord went out and put to death a hundred and eighty-five thousands in the Assyrian camp! ( 2 Chronicles 21 / II King 19: 35 ) At the greatest danger, we can experience the greatest glory of God!
Difficulties, cause our souls to wake up!

- On November 24, 2018, we saw God’s mighty glory: He reign and make the impossible, possible. He gathered and made the Taiwanese church body shifted, to become the Lord’s army, and possessed the land for the Lord, Hallelujah!
2019 is the year of war, and the year of victory!
The work of God is always: at first, it seems impossible, then, it is too hard, and finally: God did it! From “Impossible, too difficult, to God did it”, is all the work of God, God’s glory, and all we could do is: at each time of hardships, silent, and look to God, not affected by the environment, not discouraged! Continue to do our part and do what needs to be done! Continue to cry out to God and for Him to manifest His might! Then, we continue to experience God! 2019 is the year of glory, we will experience His greater glory! However, without battle, there is no victory, no victory, no glory? Therefore, 2019 is the year of war, the year of victory! At this moment, there are still many brothers and sisters, applying the wisdom, resources, and influence that God has given them! May they not be discouraged and continue: lobbying, mobilizing, fighting, doing what needed to be done! For the rest of us, be silent, keep them in our prayers! Pray for the First Nations in Turtle Island – a Crisis of Violation Against Women

【Event: In 2010, the Indian Institute of Urban Health conducted a survey of 148 Aboriginal women in the Seattle area, and the statistics they collected were distressing. 94% of the women in the survey were raped or forced to have sex, but only 20% of the women interviewed reported to the police. More than half of women have experienced homelessness. 86% of respondents mentioned the trauma of history affecting their lives.
Historical trauma: historical trauma is a complex, subtle reality. When the entire racial or ethnic group has historically suffered genocide, slavery, forced separation and purposeful destruction of culture, the cumulative effect of this trauma spans generations.
The crisis of violence against Native American women: The United States has historically occupied private land for the sake of self-interest and killed Aboriginal people. Promote the tribe to the West and use sexual violence against Aboriginal women. Colorado is home to the shameful Shaxi massacre site of 1864, with 150 Aboriginal people, mostly women, children and the elderly, killed. Today’s persecution continues, with indigenous women and women being 2.5 times more likely to be raped or sexually assaulted than in other regions. Aboriginal women are not only unable to obtain supportive services from these traumatic situations, but also lack access to justice, especially since non-indigenous people are often involved.
According to a study by the National Institute of Justice, more than half of Aboriginal women have been sexually assaulted. More than a third were raped – more than twice as many as white women. For girls and young women between the ages of 15 and 24, murder is the third leading cause of death. Thousands of American Indians and Alaska Native women and girls have disappeared and even worse.
Many tribal law enforcement agencies are seriously understaffed: this is a long-overlooked crisis. Navajo Remains Drive, Arizona, New Mexico and Utah have approximately 350,000 inhabitants, covering 17 million acres, with fewer than 200 police officers and 30 criminal investigators. This ratio of police to population is significantly lower than the national average. However, the murder rate in the reserved area is many times higher than the average.
Another problem unique to tribal law enforcement is the confusion of jurisdiction. In one example in 2016, when a girl was abducted in New Mexico, poor coordination between the police led to an eight-hour delay in issuing an Amber Alert (a child alert). In addition to the reserved areas, many Aboriginal women living in cities are missing or killed, and urban police often do poorly to track them.
Call for Congressional legislation: Senators Lisa Murkowski and Catherine Cortez Masto have just re-recommended legislation to focus attention and resources on issues. To commemorate the 22-year-old Su Savannah (Savanna LaFontaine-Greywind) 2017 years at North Dakota was murdered and was named “Su Savannah Act” (Savanna’s Act), to mention technical assistance, as well as to deal with violent crime new rules .
