Global 40-Day Fast &  Pray – Unity, Revival and Harvest – Explanation For Daily Prayers

Dear intercessor,

We will begin the 40-day fasting prayer on August 20th. During this period, there will be some changes in the posting of prayers. These are some of the adjustments:

• There will be a daily streamlined prayer: We encourage every intercessor to set time apart daily to pray in accordance with the prayers .
• Prayer Content : The following sections will be included:

    • Intimacy with God: Before your daily prayers, start with intimacy with God.
    • Repentant Prayer: Take turns daily to repent for yourself, the family, the church, the city, and the nation.
    • Daily Declaration: We will take turns to pray for the four major world leaders, President Trump of the United States, President Xi Jinping of China, and currently Prime Minister Nathayahu of Israel and Prime Minister of Russia Putin, young generation; we’ll also pray for the salvation of the members of the Freemasons,Illuminati,the extremist Muslims and the LGBTQ. 
    • Nations/Critical Global Events : Prayers for key nations or critical global events will be posted here。
  • Weekly Prayers : Prayers for the United States, Israel, First Nations, etc.will be updated weekly .

Pursuing Intimacy With God: Fast & Pray

Dear Abba Father, thank you for guiding me to participate in this global forty days prayer and fast.   Please help me to overcome all the temptations and challenges of the flesh or spirit during this period, that I may pray with the global body of Christ wholeheartedly.  Let Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

I also pray that through this prayer and fasting,  You will give me more hunger and thirst for Your words that I may soak in Your presence daily.   Every day pour out Your Spirit over me and fill me that my heart may be satisfied.   Cleanse me with Your holy light!  Renew and refresh my thought and my mind as I gaze upon You! Surround me with Your  love and draw me into  a deeper intimacy with You, Let me follow You closely and walk in the will!

In Jesus name, Amen!

Repentance for Self 01

• Psalm 33:22 Let your steadfast love, O Lord, be upon us,even as we hope in you.

Abba Father, You said that in the Last Days, You will once again shake the heavens and the earth, the sea and the dry lands, as well as the nations of the earth. Now is the time!  We see nations at war, and countless facing hardships and sorrows beyond measure. The Day of the Lord is near. I need to be more alert to watch and pray and be ready! Please, give me a broken and contrite heart, to fully confess and repent, so I can seek Your face with clean hands and a pure heart, so my prayers can come before You!

Lord, forgive me of my evil thoughts, murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false witness, slander (Matt. 15:19), covetousness, wickedness, deceit, sensuality, envy, pride, foolishness (Mark 7:22), anger, judgment, control, manipulation, selfishness, contention, injustice, the lust of the world, the temptation of money (Matt. 13:22), taking the Holy Communion in an unworthy manner, not examining self, (1 Corinthians 11) lust for evil, adultery, testing the Lord, rebellion, and complaint (1 Corinthians 10), self-exaltation, disobedience to authority, allow lust in the heart, to commit filthy acts.

Lord, thank You for Your grace and mercy!  Cleanse me with Your precious blood— Do not count my sins against me!  Give me a chance to repent and turn back to You. Ignite My passion for You!  Increase my faith for You, to truly know everything from You, is the best.  

In Jesus’ Name I pray, amen!

Daily Declaration: Declaration for the Young Generations of the World

Declare and Decree in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ:

• This is the generation of billions of young people to return to Jesus!
• This young generation is the inheritance of God, arrows in the hands of God, and the great outpouring of the Holy Spirit prophesied in the Book of Joel.
• God will defeat the spirit of homosexuality, remove the filth in the internet, pornography, violence and plunder, and rescue the young people of this generation.
• Family, school, and media will be reigned by Your authority and become the kingdom of God, the lion of Judah has roared, to defeat the dark power of the media, pride and arrogance, liberalism from all the campus.
• The young people of this generation will have the fear of the Lord, bold and courageous, clothed with holiness, willing to sacrifice self. They are the Joshua generation, the end time army of the Lord, shine in the darkness, bearing the banner of victory, and possess the gate of the enemy!
• This young generation are blessed by God and their parents, to receive double portion of anointing and favor, heavenly revelations and strategies, and signs and wonders follow them, bringing down the revival and the end time glory of God.

【Current Affairs : The protest of Anti-Extradition Bill continue to spread in Hong Kong, after the” three strikes” (strike from work, strike from classes, strike against city) on August 5, there are citizens launched a 3 days “Airport sit in”from 9 to 11, the Safeguard Hong Kong Alliance (SHKA)launched a parade on August 18. Although the application was rejected by the Hong Kong Government and only allowed to be gathered in Victoria Park, which can only accommodate 100,000 people, the SHKA still called on the people of Hong Kong to “keep a peaceful, rational, non-violent day”. It is Isaiah 60! “Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord rises upon you. • Pray For the Peace of Hong Kong: Lord Jesus, we pray for the peace of Hong Kong. We pray that we would learn to love one another amidst our differences, that You Jesus would be lifted up over this city! We pray that Your Church would unite in prayer and praise, that a miracle would reign down from Heaven into the earth, into every heart in Hong Kong at this moment and bring healing to this land.
• Pray For Parents and Children Turn Their Hearts to each other: God we cry out for mercy, we declare Your Holiness over the Hong Kong people and we ask for Your mercy to protect the innocent from bloodshed and for supernatural grace to be granted to this great city of Hong Kong. We pray Lord that You would turn the hearts of the parents to the children and the children to the parents, break the curse off the land and release a spiritual revival and awakening unto true salvation in Jesus’ name over Hong Kong, China, the World.

• Pray for the Peace of Jerusalem: Abba Father, the Ruler of the holy mountain, we ask You to send the Spirit of Shalom in Jerusalem to quell the conflict and violence between the descendants of Ishmael and Isaac. By the power of the blood Your beloved Son on the cross, break down the dividing walls of hostility and fortress of hatred for generations. Oh, heal their wounds so that their brotherhood can be restored as they forgive and reconcile with each other in the love of the father. We will see how good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity! (Psalm 133:1)
• Pray for Israel and the Nations to Worship on the Holy Mountain: Abba Father, You promised that in the last days the mountain of the Lord’s temple will be established as the highest of the mountains; it will be exalted above the hills. Let Israel and the nations turn to You in humility and their filth cleansed by the blood of Your Son, Jesus Christ. Let the Spirit of truth guide them to walk in the light of God. Behold, the descendants of Abraham will go up to the mountain of the Lord, and the people of many nations to the house of the God of Jacob. They will come together to worship God and cry out from their hearts with joy, “Oh Lord, You will teach us Your ways, so that we may walk in Your paths. Pray for The First Nation: Native Americans – Don’t Lose The Diamonds

【PRAYER】

The Chinese led the nations to embrace the aborigines: Heavenly Father, the Chinese became a platform for beloved love and a conduit for blessings, and gathered to awaken more people from all ethnic groups, to embrace the aborigines, and to bring love and unity. Down, they need us, we need them more, we need to love each other, just like we love us!

• The First Nation Tribes Must Come Home : Heavenly Father, we feel Your heart, there is a missing piece in a big Jewel puzzle.  And the First Nation is that  missing diamonds. Without them, we can’t be complete, and Your heart can’t be satisfied. They are the other sheep that the Lord is trying to find with all His might, and You will bring them back. They will also listen to Your voice, and gather as one flock and return to one Shepherd.
• Let the Chinese lead the nations to embrace the first people : Heavenly Father, rise up the Chinese to become a platform for love and a channel of blessing,and wake up more Christian family from all tribes to embrace  the First Nations and bring down Your love and unity.  We need them more than they need us.  We need to love each other, like the way You love us!
• Acknowledge The Identity And Cultural Value Of The First Nation : Heavenly Father, may You send down supernatural love to heal Your people, release the First Nation people You love to enter into the truth, to understand the purpose and plan You created them for, and acknowledge their identity as the firstborn. The uniqueness and value of each ethnic group! Father God! Now is the time, may Your will be done in the First Nation Tribes as it is in heaven!

This Holy Convocation gathered many leaders of the church, pastor Zhou Shenzhu pastor, Pastor Yang Ningya, Pastor Chen Hongbin, Pastor Luo Qingsheng, Pastor Yan Shaoen, Pastor Ye Jieyu, Pastor Dennis, Pastor Li Yizhen, Pastor Gao Qianqi, Pastor Li Jiazhong, Wu Zhifu The pastor and district priest Yongliang prayed for the country on the stage.

Pastor Nathaniel shared, at the beginning of the meeting, Taiwan will raise up the next wave of prayer, he quoted 1 Timothy 2:8: Therefore I want the men everywhere to pray, lifting up holy hands without anger or disputing. He said that to gather all the leaders In such a short time for this movement of prayer, was by the hand of God rather than by man. “We were waiting for God to solve these things, but God is waiting for us to align with Him.” In the second half of the year, we will be like Jacob, Abraham, and Isaac, to built altars in the home, the workplace, and churches. Pastor Nathaniel especially thanked the faithful sisters intercessors for praying for the Lord. He reminded us that the brethren of this generation must take up the responsibility, to overcome personal emotions and disputes, to stand up and take up the authority of prayer, to be ready in their hearts, and prepare a new ways to pray to God.

Pastor Yang Ningya also stressed that last year (2018) Taiwan experienced many natural disasters. Numerous earthquakes and typhoons everywhere, but were preserved by God because of the prayers of the churches. 2020 is a crucial moment for Taiwan. No matter how heated the cross-strait issue is, the children of God should not take it lightly and only pray during the crisis, but to be alert and pray always. He mentioned three reasons why we are not willing to pray: pride, unbelief, and idolatry. Because of pride, we believe that we are good enough and give up prayer; because not believing in God’s promises, we are not willing to pray; Because of idolatry, we seek help outside of God.

Pray without God’s love, without God’s words, that is not prayer, but simply a report.” Pastor Yang Ningya quoted Isaiah 49:6: Now he said: It is too small a thing for you to be my servant to restore the tribes of Jacob and bring back those of Israel I have kept. I will also make you a light for the Gentiles,  that my salvation may reach to the ends of the earth. Christians should rise up intercessors from the Gentiles, the key to prayer is to seek God’s revelatory words. This Holy Convocation is to call for God’s presence, to restore intimate relationship with God. “Because prayer is not to change God, but to change ourselves.”

Pastor Yan Shaoen said: “We must repent and pray, it is not any political figure, or which party that can save us. Only the Lord is our salvation!!” He quoted Acts 13:1-3, mentioned the church of Antioch…While they were worshiping the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, “Set apart for me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them.”  So after they had fasted and prayed, they placed their hands on them and sent them off. When the children of God serve the Lord, the Holy Spirit will begin to speak, even if the ministry of the churches is very busy, may we not labor to “finish” the task, but “to complete” God’s work, not only just seek God for solutions, but for individual to enter the will of God, “May the nearly 4,500 churches and 1.5 million Christians in Taiwan surrender to God, than only concern with their own churches” To declare the victory of God over the evil ones by faith – “Although we are different churches, but because of one Heavenly Father, we can unite with one another.”

Pastor Dennis shared that Heavenly Father put a sense in his heart, “The Chinese church in Asia should not have the orphan spirit. This curse that hinders the Chinese to flow into the living water of God, will be removed today!”  He mentioned In Malachi 4:5-6 – See, I will send the prophet Elijah to you before that great and dreadful day of the Lord comes. He will turn the hearts of the parents to their children, and the hearts of the children to their parents; or else I will come and strike the land with total destruction. God wants to raise up the Chinese church in this generation, and all the curses that hinder the Chinese from believing in Jesus are completely destroyed.

Church leaders should not follow program any more.” Pastor Dennis emphasized that every church is busy with her own ministry and has no time to seek God. The Gospel has been introduced to Taiwan for hundreds of years, but Christians are still a minority. Every day, pastors are focusing on preaching and writing sermons. The congregation will cheer the leaders on, but God is not in the midst. May the Holy Spirit begins to reign over the churches, and change the direction of prayer starting now. not let the busyness of ministry stop oneself from seeking God. “The focus is not on how many things to seek God for. The point is whether God is among us.”

Acts 17:26-27 – From one man he made all the nations, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and he marked out their appointed times in history and the boundaries of their lands. God did this so that they would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from any one of us. Don’t define borders politically or as world. But to seek God continually, to find the key connection.  God first came to the church in Taiwan because it is the center of Asia, the citygate, It is being raised up to spread the light of the gospel to the Chinese. God is looking for you!” The Lord God is calling to the man and said to him: Where are you? ( Genesis 4:26 ) Pastor Dennis once again stressed that you should not lose your way in your laboring in the ministries. 

Pastor Xie Hongzhong shared and point out, God’s people will drive the gospel train in two directions: first, Repent and confess our sins, to seek God’s face; second, Preach the gospel with passion, to  expand the kingdom of God, to revive the Chinese church.

Toward the end of the meeting, Pastor Nathaniel emphasized that this 40-day fasting prayer is different from the past. It will not be focused on issues and problems. It is not fasting for one hour before God. We can even be weak in our prayer, but the Holy Spirit will help us. We believe beginning on August 20th, the daily fasting prayers will be full of the grace of God. These 40 days the Holy Spirit will lead us into the wilderness, may we expect in our daily seeking God, and be filled with the presence of the Holy Spirit, we can declare God’s glory by faith, to do the glorious work of God!

Emotional-based policy/laws designed with unwanted consequences, fear-based manipulators conceal stealthily real objectives. (Isa. 35:4)

In an emotion state, citizens are easily hoodwinked into giving away freedom and giving the government expanded powers. We implemented ‘Homeland Security Act’ and ‘Intelligence Reform’ after 9/11 (2001). We are still paying the cost for civil captivity today, we handed the government more power to spy and control, not solely on suspected terrorists, as well as on American citizens without a warrant. (1 Pe. 5:6-7)

In 1920 to 1980 (span of 60 years), there were 205 people died in public shootings in America where owning guns was common. From 1980 to this date (in 30+ years), more than 1,400 people have died, a 700% escalation. President Trump condemned the latest shootings as ‘the act of evil.’ (Mt. 10:28)

Another emotional-fear-based policy/law is waiting at the Senate floor after the El Paso and Dayton shootings (James 4:8). Voting soon begins on ‘Red Flag Gun Law’,  that will apply to ‘Complaints’ initially made by someone thought ‘something a person might do’, this is a lower standard than the ‘reasonable suspicion standard’ we allowed police to use. Simply put, ‘Red Flag Gun Law’ will be a ‘anything is possible’ charge based on vague complaints filed by any citizens. This extends beyond gun confiscations.

Taking away guns or increasing ‘gun control’ cannot solve mass shootings because anyone can find ways to get guns and sophisticated weapons illegally. Its cause is man’s flaws and the lack of God’s virtue (Hosea 4:6). America has a virtue problem since God was removed politically from the law, government, education, businesses, courtrooms, families, economy and culture, whereas mentioning God, the Bible and praying are offensive and violate (falsely accused) the first Commandment. Evil is unceasingly advancing government fear-based policies.

Pray for Israel: Clashes Broke Out on Temple Mount on Tisha B’Av (the Day of Mourning for the Destruction of Temples)

【Current event: Clashes broke out between Muslim protesters and Israeli police forces on Jerusalem’s Temple Mount holy site on Sunday (8/11), during a period of peak religious tensions over the confluence of Jewish and Muslim holy days. At least 61 Muslim worshipers were injured in the clashes and at least four officers were also wounded. Sunday marks both the start of Eid al-Adha, an Islamic holiday and the Jewish fast day of Tisha B’Av, when Jews mourn the destruction of the temples that once stood on the Temple Mount and other disasters in Jewish history.

Muslims Began Rioting: Following a security assessment, police said non-Muslims would be barred from entering the Temple Mount, where tens of thousands of Muslim worshipers had arrived during the morning. Hundreds of Jews had gathered at the gates leading to the holy site on Sunday morning. After another security assessment, some Jewish visitors were allowed to enter the site. Several dozen visited under close police escort and Muslim worshipers began throwing chairs and other objects at the group. In response, police fired tear gas, rubber bullets and other less-lethal riot control weapons at the protesters. The Jewish visitors left the compound shortly thereafter.

Criticism from Within: Concerning the closure of the Temple Mount on Tisha B’Av, right-wing politicians blamed Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for the move, condemning it as “disgraceful” and calling on him to reverse the ban. A source in the Prime Minister’s Office denied Netanyahu ordered the closure, saying whether to allow entry to the Temple Mount is determined in accordance with police assessments of the situation.

Tradition and Rules of Entry: Israeli authorities traditionally close the Temple Mount to non-Muslims during Islamic holidays, to keep religious tensions from boiling over, but exceptions have been made when Jewish holidays coincide. In June, police allowed Jewish visitors onto the site on Jerusalem Day, which fell this year during the final days of Ramadan, sparking clashes between Muslims and police.

Under an arrangement in place since Israel’s victory in the 1967 Six Day war, non-Muslims are allowed to visit the Temple Mount but not to pray there. Jews in religious garb are allowed to enter in small groups during limited hours, but are taken through a predetermined route, are closely watched and are prohibited from praying or displaying any religious or national symbols. 】（Source：Times of Israel, 8/11/2019）

Pray for The First Nation: Native Americans – Don’t Lose The Diamonds

【Background: On July 22 this year, we prayed for the Aboriginal gathering in Manitoba, Canada (click here for more details ) . There were two Canadian Chinese intercessors attending the party. 

The following letter is from one of the intercessors, describing in the tone of a 4-year-old First Nation girl, Kingsley, about the real interactions on their way back to Winnipeg.  

A letter from Kingsley

Hello, everyone! My name is Kingsley. My grandmother lives in The Pas, a reservation in Manitoba province. She is a Cree Tribe; my mother is a half Cree, she will graduate as a professional lawyer in  one year, and she is determined to become a lawyer, especially as a voice for the First Nation people.Therefore, we often travel to and from The Pas and Winnipeg.

That day, I met two lovely Chinese aunts who wanted to ride back with us to Winnipeg. Because my mother needs to drive, my sister and I are very happy, because we have companies now, on the way home. I like to paint a lot, and I like them very much. So, I  wanted to give them a painting from the beginning. So, I asked one of the aunts to tear off a piece of paper from my mother’s notebook, and paint a picture for them, while they were resting. Along the way, we played games, ate popcorn; and also listened to the aunts, introduced their families to me, laughter and enjoyable conversation accompanied us…

Time really flew, and the joyful journey finally came to the time to say goodbye. I took out the picture I had already prepared and asked the aunt to open it. I don’t know if she likes my work, but I hope she can keep it well, so I said to her, please don’t throw away the painting, I hope you can keep it. In this painting, it is full of my love for them! I drew a heart in the upper left corner, and I said to her: I love you! I also want to know if she loves me? So I asked her: Do you love me? She replied, yes, I love you. I am so happy! I also want to know if her daughter Zoe loves me? So, I asked again: Does Zoe love me too? Auntie, said Zoe still doesn’t know me, and still don’t understand me. I hope that ZOE can love me too, so I asked Auntie to take a picture of me and introduce me to ZOE. I also hope to be a good friend with ZOE. I also wrote a lot of love languages, expressing how I like to dance with aunts, to watch TV and play; because I still can’t write, so I can only express using waves. in the lower part of the painting, there is a room with two photos hanging inside, which is me and aunty. There are two people, also me and aunty. The little one that has the braids on who was about to go out to play was me, and aunty was in the room. I hope that when I go out, she can wait for me at home, watch TV, play games, dance and wait until I come back.

I saw Auntie put the painting carefully into the carry-on bag. I hope she can keep it all the time. Finally, it is time to say goodbye, I look forward to seeing them again next time.

What I Received in the spirit:

After I came home, when I was quiet before the Lord, God revealed to me the scenes of the painting and the car ride. This is not just an Aboriginal little girl’s love for the two Chinese who ride in her car, but it is the love of the entire aboriginal group for the Chinese, the aboriginal has the desire to love, and a longing for the response to love.

The aborigines sent an invitation to the Chinese, “Do you love us?”, Do you really love us? Or do you love us because it is a ministry that God has given you? If you really love me? What about your family? Do they love us? I long to be known, accepted, and eager to receive their love.

The little girl who is about to go out in the painting, is like an aboriginal warrior, holding a  weapon of warfare. When they go out to fight, how they need us to watch for them at home and wait for their return. She used wavy lines to express their love. She said not throw away the painting, as the IHOP Pastor Mike Bickle said to a church in Winnipeg a few decades ago , “Don’t lose the diamond.” To this day, this church has minister to the aborigines for 30 years.

Yes, the aborigines are the most precious diamonds in the Kingdom of God. May the Chinese and the body of Christ around the world stand with them. 】

Revival Testimony：Moravian Fire　

An amazing thing happened back in the 18th century in German Herrnhut, out of prayers for 9 little girls brought about a great revival that impacted hundreds of years…. 

What Led to The Revival: Centuries of persecution caused many Protestants to be  displaced all over.

What took place in Herrnhut of a German count, impacted the global evangelism for over hundreds of years to come.

Moravia and Bohemia in ancient Europe was situated in the Midwest of current Czech the Republic. During the 7th and 8th century, the local people received the gospels, first through the Greek Church, then through the Roman Catholic Church. But at the start of the 15th century, the Roman Catholic church was hypocritical and corrupt. Reformed leader of Bohemia John Huss, enacted a series of reformational movements and was burned at the stack by the Roman Catholics for spreading the gospels (1415).  From then on, it became the dreadful land where Christians were being persecuted. Those who were faithful in spreading the gospels needed to hide from place to place, once they settled in a village Kurlwald, northeast part of Bohemia for a peaceful life. In 1457, these so-called “brethren of the laws of Christ “founded the church, and was called the [United Brethren] 

In 1722, the strongest and biggest monarchy in Europe, the Habsburg Monarch, forced the Protestants to be converted into Catholicism. They were persecuted for refusing to  give up their faith, the brethren had already been persecuted for several centuries. Many of them testified their faith through shedding of their blood. They were incarcerated, mistreated, drafted to military from their homelands, so the leader of the Moravian Brethren, Christian David, decided to go to seek a safe haven for them.

The Moravian Great Revival was located in what was bordering with today’s Germany, Poland and Czech.

The Birthplace of The Revival: The Estate of Herrnhut

Pleaded by David, Nicolaus Ludwig Zinzendorf, who was the count of Saxony of Germany, welcomed these escapees and took them under his wings against all opposition from his family, gradually David led about 200 people from Moravia who were willing to forgo everything, and settled in the village of Herrnhut that Zinzendorf set up for them, as a safe haven for the Christians from all denominations, and more so, it was the headquarters for the Moravian Brethren to send missionaries to all the globe.  The Lord prepared a safe haven, where their church can be refreshed and renewed…

Revival Starter: Prayer for the 9 Girls

The Moravian Great revival that went down in history, was started because of 9 girls; however for those who experienced the baptism of the Holy Spirit,  couldn’t recount exactly what transpired on the day of August 13th of 1727. They only said “we were not sure whether that was in heaven, or we were still on the earth”…

What accounted for the climax event of the Moravian Great Revival on August 13th of 1727 was that the Count Zinzendorf had been leading nine girls (ages 10 to 13), and he was saddened by their spiritual apathy. No matter how many stories about Jesus Christ he told them, it was not penetrating their hearts.  When he was losing hope, he prayed passionately like a blazing fire, beseeching the Lord to grant them His grace and blessings.

Holy Fire Ablaze 

The German count who was just about 29 years old, kneeled and prayed for the girls without ceasing to the point of exhaustion, tears streamed down his face; This prayer availed incredibly, that was the beginning of the work of the Holy Spirit who gives life and strength. Not only count Zinzendorf, many brothers also wanted to gather at the castle of Hutberg regularly to pray and sing hymns in one accord.

On August 5th, the count together with the 12 to 14 brethren held an all-night prayer, everyone was greatly touched. On Sunday service August 10th in Herrnhut, Pastor Rotherham felt he was inundated by a wonderful but irresistible force from the Lord, he fell prostrated before the Lord, and everyone followed him and fell prostrated. In that atmosphere they prayed and sang hymns, wept and travailed. On August 13th of 1727, the Spirit of grace and supplication fell upon all the congregants, it felt like they clang unto the Lord closely, everyone felt the same way, and even the two members who were 20 miles away and did not know the situation of the gathering, felt the same blessings.  They couldn’t describe what had transpired, they could only say it was like in union with the Lord in heaven while they were still on the earth.

Unceasing Prayer and Global Evangelism

After that day, a thought came to some of them that they felt they needed to set aside time daily to pray. Everyone remembered what happened on August 13th as though it was yesterday.  They believed by praying persistently they would receive the promises of the Lord. Everyone felt a deep desire to give their heart to the Lord. Therefore, a 24-hour prayer initiated by the 24 brothers and sisters was birthed. 24 one hour shift day and night, each shift is decided by casting lots.  Very rapidly, more people joined the force of intercession, even some children with a contrite heart were in their midst. No matter it was a boy or a girl, they could feel the same intense desire for prayer. It’s literally impossible not to be touched by the prayers of these children. When the Spirit of grace and supplication poured upon these children, it was so effective that was beyond description. Indeed it could be said that the heavenly joy had visited Herrnhut.  Everyone was lost in the spirit, casting away the things of the world that was temporary . Their only desire was to be with their Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, to enjoy the eternal blessings.

This prayer meeting that was initiated in 1727, lasted 100 years. This prayer birthed the subsequent missionary movement, which was to bring the grace of salvation of Christ to the unbelievers everywhere in the world, including Vikings of Denmark, the aboriginal people in the West Indies, the Eskimos in Greenland, and the black slaves of the St Martin Island.  Its influences even reach to Suriname, the Gold Coast of Africa, South Africa, the Native Indians of North America, and Jamaica in the Caribbean. Even later on the Great Awakening in Britain and The New England, led by John Wesley and George Whitefield, traced their influences back to the Moravian Brethren.

This little flock of so-called “ignorant commoners”  sent out a total of 226 self-supporting missionaries all over the world from 1732 to 1760, they need to be self-sufficient in the new lands over more than 10 nations across the continents, some were potters, carpenters, and cemetery workers.  Someone once asked a brother en route to Labrador was he ready to embark, his immediate reply was: “Once I have a pair of shoes, I am ready to take off”,.” They brought their wives and kids with them and they were ready to die and buried at where they were going. What they did in 20 years had far surpassed what the Anglicans and the Reformed had done in 200 years. The Moravian Mission had sent out over 3000 missionaries in the year of 1930, and the ratio of missionary to believer is 1 to 12.
